YES WE CAN HAS!

Here we have two-fifths of a good idea. Except, of course, removing the card from the camera and sticking it in the device would be pretty much a huge practical pain that no one* would do anyway. Over here we have another two-fifths. Now someone just needs to figure out how to make a card that sits in your camera and communicates with some sort of external GPS device - like your iPhone. And heck, if it's talking to your iPhone, maybe it can upload them for you too. I seriously expect to see a functionally reasonable solution to this problem by Xmas 2009.

* That is to say, not I.

Some Nikon's let you plug a GPS into the camera to automatically tag the images as you shoot.

And some of the Canon vertical grips (of the WFT series) do as well. And of course they'll transfer the files via WiFi to external storage. They're hell of expensive, though.

Also, your second link appears to be expired.

I think it's fixed now, but it might not stay that way for long. Silly Costco website. Last time I reference THERE.

Actually, that ATC device looks a bit better than two-fifths. I already use an external card reader to get my photos on to my computer. It's non-trivially smaller and less fiddly than a USB cable. Having another little device in that work flow wouldn't be all that bad. It's not perfect, but I'd call it at least three- or four-fifths.

For me, it would be useful on a planned shoot - which will probably mostly happen in one location that I could tag myself. It would be more useful for random casual shots while wandering around, but then I'd need to drag another device around with me, and chances are good that I'd never have it handy or charged when it would be most useful.

Two and a half?

2.5 ± 1. YMMV. :D

Oh, and Eye-fi is about to (if they haven't already) come out with a card that uses the same cell-tower triangulation that the current-gen iPhone does, which might bump it up another fifth. Not quite precise enough for my OCD-like desires on the matter, though.

My cameras use Memstick and xD, unfortunately. I've been wanting an Alpha quite a lot, but I'm holding out to see what this Fall brings in the line. I'd be SO happy if Sony would pick up on geotagging and build something in to the Alphas.
